Situated in New Orleans, this firm has about 50 people all focused in one way or another on design excellence. The firm’s leadership seeks a unique individual to help cultivate and expand its reach and exposure. The Director of Business Development will help guide the overall business acquisition strategy in actively seeking and securing new work of strategic importance to the long term financial sustainability and ideals of the firm. By working closely with the firm’s leadership, the Director of Business Development will also act as an internal consultant and mentor on issues related to client acquisition.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a field related to marketing, as well as a minimum of 5 years of experience directing (or helping to direct) business development/marketing and communications in the A/E/C industry. Excellent client management, presentation and communication skills are a must, as are outstanding negotiation and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of success in developing new markets and clients while maintaining a high percentage of existing clients and their businesses. An entrepreneurial spirit in all activities related to business development is highly desirable, along with an ability to provide both daily and strategic leadership for the firm’s business development program.
